ABOUT US
The Taupo Native Plant Nursery was established at Taupo in 1961, as part of the Dept. of Conservation to grow and supply native plants for the restoration of scenic reserves, forests and national parks. We were the first specialist revegetation native plant nursery in New Zealand and now, private since 1993, remain the leader in the field.
- Our primary objective is to grow and provide hardy ecologically sourced plants.
- We advocate and promote conservation by providing rehabilitation of our natural environment.
Today, we produce annually some 2 million seedlings and 1.7 million plants, despatching them to destinations New Zealand wide.
Our Taupo Native team comprises some 40 full-time staff and up to 35 casual staff.
