Pelican Protector Cases

Sensitive equipment needs protection, and since 1976 Pelican cases have been the answer. Tried and tested in the harshest environments on Earth, their toughness is legendary.

The Protector, Storm and Air case series use honeycomb structural elements that reduce the amount of structural plastic, resulting in lighter cases. All cases are waterproof, dustproof and crushproof.

Watertight

Designed to keep gear dry and dust-free, Pelican cases are equipped with tight-sealing neoprene O-rings that seal the case and a pressure equalization valve. Floating and easy to open at any altitude, these cases are also made of chemical-resistant polypropylene copolymer.

Large Pelican Protector Cases protect bulky or valuable equipment from impact damage and changes in atmospheric pressure. Available in the Storm, Vault and Air case lines, these cases feature a selection of inserts and colors to customize the interior space for your equipment.

The largest case fits two full-size DSLR cameras and lenses, a 70-200mm f/2.8 lens, three additional lenses, and accessories such as batteries, flash triggers, and filters. The cases also come with layers of customizable pluckable foam, allowing you to easily tailor the interior space for your specific gear. The latches are designed to withstand the force of multiple impacts, and the cases have been drop tested to DEF-STAN 81-41 standards. Most large Pelican cases also have transport wheels and a retractable extension trolley handle to make hauling them easier.

Dustproof

Pelican cases keep equipment and important documents free from dust, bugs and other messes. Many of them also have a barometric pressure relief valve to protect against changes in atmospheric pressure. Some of the larger cases also feature recessed double-throw latches that have been dropped from over 1.8 meters in military tests to make sure they stay closed.

Pelican case sizes range from small to large, making it easy to find one that’s the right fit for your gear. Some of them include rugged in-line wheels and select cases have telescoping handles for easier transportation.

While the difference in aesthetics between the Protector, Storm and Air cases is a matter of preference, they all provide excellent protection for your valuables. The Protector’s polypropylene shell is stronger than the HPX resin bodies of the Storm and Air cases, but it’s also heavier. This makes the latter two case lines slightly more prone to scuffs and scratches, but they’re still just as strong and come with the same lifetime warranty.

Crushproof

Protect your equipment on the go with rugged Pelican cases. These hard protective cases are crushproof and can withstand the harshest environments. With an automatic purge valve that equalizes air pressure, a watertight silicone O-ring lid, over-molded rubber handles and stainless steel hardware, Pelican cases are built to last.

Whether you are transporting sensitive proprietary equipment for law enforcement or military personnel, or priceless memories and documentation, these durable cases will keep your gear safe in harsh conditions. Some of the cases feature a barometric relief valve that prevents damage due to changes in atmospheric pressure.

Other Pelican cases feature zippered mesh pockets for cables and other accessories, see-through closures so you can easily locate your gear, or Interchangeable foam insert sets that let you customize the case to fit your equipment. Some cases also have recessed press and pull latches, padlockable hasps and stainless steel hardware to secure your equipment further. For ease of transportation, select cases have wheels and telescoping handles.

Lightweight

You’ve spent a ton of cash on a rifle and optics, so don’t trust it to some cheap, second-rate case. Whether you’re hauling it across the country for your dream hunt or lugging it around the office, protect it with a Pelican case.

These cases are designed rugged to handle the harshest environments on earth. They’re made in the USA and feature an automatic purge valve that equalizes air pressure, a watertight silicone O-ring lid, over-molded rubber handles and stainless steel hardware.

The patented latch design is simple and strong, and locks shut with a reassuring snap. The pick-n-pluck foam interior is easily customized to fit equipment of any size, and some models include stainless steel hasps for padlocks to secure firearms or valuables. Allcases carries several small-size models that meet airline carry-on and checked baggage regulations. They use honeycomb structural elements to reduce the amount of structural plastic, while retaining Pelican’s legendary standards of strength.

Tips For Building and Furnishing a Tiny House

A tiny house is a great way to simplify your life. You’ll have more time to spend on the things you love and less space for clutter.

Tiny homes are also a great option for those who are looking to save money on utilities and have a smaller impact on the environment. Read on to learn more about these unique homes.

Building a Tiny House

People choose to build tiny houses for a number of reasons. It could be that they have a desire to downsize and live with less possessions, or that they want to limit their impact on the environment. Other factors that contribute to going tiny include a desire to live more intentionally and a sense of financial freedom.

When building a tiny house, it is important to consider state and local regulations. These may include permitting requirements, restrictions on the size of the home and guidelines for construction.

You should also create a materials list based on the plan you have designed or purchased for your tiny house. This will help you determine what supplies you need and the price of those items. Some items, such as drywall and flooring, are easy to install, while others like windows and doors, appliances and plumbing must be installed by a professional. Once you have the structure of your tiny home built, it’s time to insulate and weatherproof it.

Designing a Tiny House

When you’re building a tiny house, it’s important to think about the layout of your home. For example, you’ll need to figure out where the kitchen will be located and how the bathroom will be designed. You’ll also need to decide on the type of doors and windows that you want.

Tiny houses are a great option for people who want to downsize their lifestyle and live with less stuff. By moving into a tiny home, you can create more space in your life for things that matter most to you. You can also save money on your mortgage payments and utilities and use that money to travel or invest in your dreams.

One drawback of tiny homes is that they may not be suitable for certain climates. If you live in an area prone to storms or hurricanes, then a tiny house may not be the best choice. This is why many people choose to make their tiny houses on wheels, so they can move them when necessary.

Storage Solutions for a Tiny House

Storage is an important element of any tiny house. However, not all types of storage work for tiny houses. To keep things organized, you should consider incorporating vertical storage solutions in your tiny house design. For example, you can add shelves up high or in spaces that aren’t normally used for storage like on the treads of stairs.

Another option is to use baskets for small items. They come in a variety of sizes and can fit in nooks or be used as accent pieces. They also help to organize your things and can make a room feel less cluttered.

You can also install hooks in your bathroom to hang towels, robes, and washcloths. This can free up cabinet space for other items. Another great option is to use an over-the-door organizer for your toiletries. These are often much thinner than regular cabinets and they can hold a lot of items. They are also easy to access when you need them.

Furniture for a Tiny House

When furnishing a tiny house, look for multi-purpose furniture that takes up little floor space when not in use. For example, wall-mounted tables are great options for a dining room. They screw right into the wall studs and can be folded up when not in use. They also come in a variety of styles to match your tiny house décor.

Other space-saving furniture for a tiny house includes sofas that convert to beds and lift-top coffee tables that double as desks. These pieces are easy to find at home improvement stores and big-box retailers.

Many specialty tiny houses outfitters and builders offer custom-built pieces for those who would prefer built-in furniture. These pieces can be a fantastic solution for people who want to live in a home that is tailored to their specific needs, not one designed with sales value and square footage in mind. The best part is that these pieces are made from high-quality materials, and they can last for years to come.

Leather Recolouring – Give Your Leather Furniture a Fresh Look

Leather recolouring is an easy way to make your leather furniture look as good as new. It helps cover up blemishes caused by sun exposure, dirt, and stains and gives your leather a new lease of life!

Leather recolouring can be done with a variety of products and takes a lot of skill to produce a quality result. It is not a DIY project, and should only be undertaken by experienced professionals.

Colour

Leather recolouring can give your leather furniture a new lease of life. It covers up blemishes such as sun exposure, dirt, and stains to give your leather goods a fresh new look.

When deciding on the colour of your leather, it’s important to choose a shade that’s matched to your decor. Choosing the wrong color can make your piece seem out of place, and you won’t enjoy it as much.

Another consideration when it comes to the color of your leather is what type of finish it has. There are two different types of finishes available for leather, including paint and dye.

Paint pigments are sprayed over the surface of tanned leather and then covered with a clear coat. The coating is protective and stretches with the leather, resisting fading, water, and wear.

Texture

Leather recolouring can change the appearance of your leather. It can make an older piece look like it has been well loved and used over time or can help to give a new leather item a worn and distressed appearance.

There are many different types of texture that can be applied to leather. These include embossed, grunge and natural textures.

Grunge is a popular leather texture that can be created by scarring, brand marks or uneven colours and grain. This type of appearance is not ideal for everyone but can be a good way to enhance the beauty of your leather.

Nubuck and Suede are two other popular leather textures that can be sanded down to produce a very soft and fuzzy finish. They can be difficult to care for and may need specialized products.

If you want to change the colour of your leather, you can use a dye or a colorant. Dyes and finishes can be a little more expensive than Latex but they are very versatile and work much better than paints.

Durability

Leather is a very popular material for upholstery and clothing but it can be prone to wear and tear over time. This can lead to faded colours, dry skin and cracks.

Luckily, there are products available to help you restore your leather and keep it looking good for a long time. This includes recolouring products, refinishing products and repair kits.

Recolouring is the process of putting a new colour coat on an existing leather item. Traditionally, this is done at tanneries but DIY recolouring can provide the same professional results for less cost.

To recolour, you can use one of the many coloured leather dyes on the market. Just choose a shade that is similar to your original colour and apply a thin coat. Let it dry for two minutes using a hairdryer and then blend with several coats as needed.

Appearance

Leather recolouring is not an easy process and requires special products that are designed to give you quality results. It is not a home DIY project and should be completed in a specific order to ensure correct preparation, even application and quality sealing.

Using the right type of product can dramatically improve the look and appearance of your leather furniture and accessories, allowing you to create the design that you want. It also helps protect your furniture and reduces the chances of it wearing away or fading due to UV exposure.

Leather dyes are available in alcohol, oil and water based solutions. They can be applied by a dauber or airbrush to provide an even coat of color to your leather.

All Seasons Duvet Inner NZ

An all seasons duvet inner NZ is a great way to stay warm and comfortable year round. Sold in 4.5 tog, 9 tog and 10.5 tog combinations, you can mix and match as you please.

Wool is a natural fibre that traps air really well, providing good temperature regulation. It also wicks away moisture from your body and keeps you dry and warm as you sleep.

4.5 tog

A duvet inner is a great way to keep you warm and cosy at night, and the most important thing to consider is the tog rating. This is a global measurement of thermal insulation that allows you to select the right duvet for the season.

For example, summer duvets tend to be 4.5 togs or below, spring/autumn duvets are 7 togs or above and winter duvets are 12 togs or above. These are all available in different styles to suit your needs, so it’s worth considering which one will be the best for you.

Alternatively, some manufacturers sell combined duvets that include two lighter togs fastened together (with buttons) for added warmth. This is ideal if you don’t have room for separate duvets and will keep you cosy in different seasons.

10.5 tog

The 10.5 tog duvet inner NZ is an all seasons duvet that will keep you warm and cosy all year round. The duvet is incredibly insulating and will help to regulate your body temperature while you sleep, making it perfect for those who suffer from hot sleepers or night sweats.

The duvet is filled with 80% Smartfil (r) polyester and 20% Modal microfibres which are encased in 200-thread-count cotton percale. This means it’s breathable and odour-free, allowing your body to breathe naturally while you sleep.

In terms of price, this is one of the best duvets inner NZ you can buy. It is also easy to care for and comes in a variety of colours.

It is also a great choice for allergy sufferers, as it has been allergy tested by Allergy UK and is certified asthma-friendly. It is also machine washable and tumble-dryer safe.

Hypoallergenic

For sleepers who suffer from allergies, this all seasons duvet inner NZ is the ideal choice. It’s hypoallergenic and odour-free so you can get the rest you need without worrying about dust, mites or mould.

This duvet inner is made from a mix of cotton and wool to provide excellent temperature regulation for all year round use. It also provides moisture wicking properties which helps keep you cool during the warmer months and warm during the winter.

The cotton cover has a high thread count and is robustly stitched to prevent fibre migration through the outer. This means you’ll be able to sleep comfortably for longer and it can even be machine washed and tumble dried if necessary!

A good quality duvet is an investment so you want to ensure you are getting the best possible value for your money. The materials you choose to fill your duvet with can make a big difference to how well it regulates your body temperature and how you feel in bed, so it’s important to choose carefully.

Machine washable

When it comes to choosing the right duvet inner NZ, you want a light weight and cosy filling that will keep you warm and comfy at night. There are plenty of options available, including natural and synthetic materials.

Whether you opt for an all seasons duvet inner NZ or a winter one, the type of filling you choose will have a big impact on how well it insulates you. If you’re looking for a natural duvet inner, duck or goose feathers are often the best option.

However, synthetic fillings can be more breathable and less likely to make you hot in the morning. That said, if you have a problem with allergies, man-made materials may not be ideal for you, as they may trigger your sinuses or asthma symptoms.

Generally, it’s a good idea to stick with a natural duvet inner NZ for the long term, as they tend to last longer and are better for your health. They also have a higher thread count, which helps to ensure a more comfortable and softer sleeping experience.

Flower Market Auckland

If you love flowers, then you’ll love the flower market Auckland that takes over Viaduct Harbour every Sunday from 8am – noon for the next three months. The market will feature a range of plants and flowers, food and live music.

But the main reason to go is to shop for seasonal fresh flowers. We teamed up with the NZ Flower Growers Association and United Flower Growers to create this guide to help you choose the right flowers for your occasion.

The Botanist

The Botanist, distilled on the Isle of Islay by Bruichladdich Master Distiller Jim McEwan, is a unique gin with 22 local botanicals harvested from the surrounding hills and valleys of its distillery. Its core flavour is juniper, but with hints of lemon and floral notes.

The gin is best enjoyed in its original form without ice, to showcase the delicate floral and herbal undertones which are characteristic of this gin’s forage-forward character. It’s also a perfect partner to a well-made gin and tonic, or any classic cocktail like the Gimlet or Gin Rickey.

In a bid to celebrate New Zealand flowers, the National Flower Promotion Group has commissioned five top florists to create floral installations using one species of locally grown flower during New Zealand Flowers Week, 21-27 November 2016. Jo Mann from Auckland’s Wild Bunch will dress each dog with a bespoke flower crown or collar made from peonies, while Eden Hessel from The Botanist will construct a subtropical floral throne from New Zealand rose varieties.

The Language of Flowers

When you step into the flower market in Auckland, the commotion is almost psychedelic. The smell of jasmine, the sounds of wholesalers and middlemen haggling over daily rates, and the sight of flowers of all colors being unloaded by boxes are awe-inspiring.

The Victorians used flowers to express emotions: honeysuckle for devotion, azaleas for passion, and red roses for love. For damaged young woman Victoria Jones, flowers and their meanings have become her only connection to the world.

Cunningly, a system of “Floriography” was devised in which secret messages could be passed from one person to another using the meanings of flowers. Messages of love, rejection and hate were coded into gifts of blooms or floral arrangements, expressing feelings that were considered socially taboo in Victorian society.

Flower and Thorn

The flower market is an important part of Auckland’s economic life. Its success is the result of the hard work and skill of growers, suppliers, florists, horticulturists, traders, and others.

The flower trade provides jobs for thousands of people in the region. It supports a diverse range of industries, including those in manufacturing, food, wine and tourism.

But there are also many other benefits to this industry, ranging from preserving biodiversity to enriching soils for other plants. Some flowers – such as the Matagouri (Pyramus salignus) – have special micro-organisms that can ‘fix nitrogen’, allowing them to survive in nutrient-poor habitats.

Thornapple is an annual weed found extensively throughout New Zealand. It is a foul-smelling plant with upright, stout stems and green leaves. The trumpet-shaped flowers appear in November to April, and the fruit is an egg-shaped capsule with spiky spines.

Floralink

Floralink is an online flower shop that has a wide range of floral products to choose from. They also provide free delivery to most areas of Auckland.

The New Zealand flower market has undergone some tumultuous times in recent years, but a local designed and built remote auction digital platform has made it through the tumult to become one of the most popular platforms for buying and selling flowers in the country.

Using an algorithm to select the most suitable and appealing products, the website features a wide selection of seasonal blooms from all over the country. The site is a breeze to navigate, and you can buy flowers in a variety of price ranges. The website is a great resource for any flower lover, from those just starting out in the industry to seasoned experts.

Brooklyn Flowers

Brooklyn Flowers is your go-to flower shop in Auckland. They offer a wide range of beautiful bouquets, posies and corporate floral arrangements.

Whether you need to send some flowers to a friend or family member, you can trust Brooklyn to provide a high-quality product and service that will exceed your expectations. They also make sure that your order will be delivered on time and in perfect condition.

They have a great selection of flowers including roses, orchids and carnations. Their florists are experienced and can create a variety of designs for any occasion.

Among the best flower delivery services in Auckland, Bouqo brings the human touch of the in-store experience to their online ordering system. They’ll give you a few questions to help them get the right flower arrangement for your needs and then deliver it straight to your door.

The Risks of UGC Moderation

In our increasingly networked world, user-generated content (UGC) is one of the most effective tools for brands to connect with consumers. But, it also comes with some risk.

Toxic UGC, such as explicit videos or spam, can spread quickly and ruin a brand’s reputation. Moderation is the key to preventing this damage.

Reactive moderation

In a digital world where users expect immediate interaction, reactive moderation gives the members of an online community a chance to flag and report content before it’s even posted. This allows moderators to respond in real-time and avoid stifling conversations.

Reactive moderation is a good choice when you want to ensure that your online community is safe from toxic UGC that might not be caught until it’s published in a public forum. It also gives your community the opportunity to report content that they deem inappropriate or unsuitable, which can greatly reduce the workload of your moderators.

The downside of reactive moderation is that it takes longer than other modes of moderation. This means that your community will not see all of the harmful content before it’s reported, which can slow down interactions and lead to a sluggish online experience. Reactive moderation can be used in combination with other moderation methods to ensure the safety of your community.

Post moderation

UGC is a great way to drive traffic to your website and boost your brand image. However, toxic user-generated content can destroy your reputation if it is not moderated.

There are many ways to moderate UGC and one of the most effective is by implementing a multi-layered moderation process. This includes a combination of automated tools and manual reviews by qualified staff.

Reactive moderation allows users to report any content that they deem offensive, triggering an alert with the website’s moderators or administrators to review. It’s a good option for communities where users have demonstrated a high level of responsibility and are able to manage themselves.

This approach also helps to protect users from a plethora of scammers and spammers. It’s important to be able to detect and remove links to illegal or offensive sites that might appear in audience contributions.

Automated moderation

In the age of social media, user-generated content is a major source of brand engagement. Whether it’s a photo of a customer wearing your product, a text review or a livestream of their experience at a party, authentic UGC is important to your reputation and can help boost sales.

But there are some risks involved, especially if you don’t have a solid moderation process in place. Fake or toxic UGC can damage your brand and your audience’s trust in it.

Automated content moderation systems use algorithms to flag inappropriate content, either automatically or manually. This is an inexpensive and quick method to prevent users from submitting content that may be offensive or harmful to others.

The problem is that these automated systems often ignore context and intent when evaluating UGC content, resulting in both false positives (flagging things that shouldn’t be flagged) and false negatives (allowing inappropriate content through). To combat these issues, many businesses turn to human moderation teams.

Human moderation

User-generated content (UGC) is a great way for brands to promote their products, services, and brand identity. However, it also poses risks that can damage a brand’s reputation and impact user experience.

For this reason, any business using UGC needs to have a robust moderation process in place. This can take the form of an automated tool that pre-screens all UGC before it reaches users, saving time and resources for human moderation teams.

In addition to being a good way to keep user-generated content on brand, it can be a crucial step in ensuring that your online community is safe from spammers and trolls. The most effective method of UGC moderation involves a mix of human moderation and automation.

Whether you’re running an ecommerce site or a social media platform, user-generated content can build or destroy your brand. It can be a PR nightmare, or it can give your business a competitive advantage.
